Cindy Yarawamai’s love for drawing and painting began at a young age and led her to pursue a career in art education. However after thirty-two years of teaching at various public and private schools, she transitioned out of the classroom to follow her love for silk painting and fine art. While at the Hawaii Preparatory Academy, Cindy met and studied under the renowned silk artist and author, Susan Moyer.
It was while working with Susan that Cindy began to cultivate her painting and batik, and was inspired to start her own business, Maram Designs. Under the Maram label her works include silk painting, batik, watercolor, and other varied fine art mediums.
She recently has started a line of driftwood, shell, and wine cork wreaths. Her love of nature, the Pacific islands and its people are reflective in her pieces. Cindy has truly found her niche with Maram Designs and her passion is translated beautifully into all of her work.
